Air pressure

It is recommended to adjust your tire air pressure to the ratio of 1psi/10 lb of your weight. For example, if you weight 175lbs it will therefore be recommended to adjust the air pressure in your tire to 17.5psi. Some riders will adjust the tire air pressure depending on the terrain type. In off-road mode or in city mode for example.

OFF-ROAD: Lower air pressure in off-road mode is often considered due to the reduced rebound effect on the board. Rough terrain, such as roots, stumps and rocks will tend to force you out of your board with higher air pressure. It is important to note that battery life will be reduced when going off-road and/or with air pressure lower than recommendations.

CITY: It will be more interesting to adjust the air pressure to the recommendations mentioned or even higher for better grip on the ground, better contact of the tire with the ground for more maneuverability and “carving”. The battery life will also be greater than during your off-road outings.

We recommend playing with the air pressure of your tire to find your comfort zone. Each rider will have their own preferences depending on the board model, their weight, their type of position on the board, modifications made to their board (rail, hub, tire, etc.)

The Eshop Montreal team recommends always having a portable pump/compressor on hand during your outings in order to be able to add air if necessary. Visit the Store Security page to find our pump/compressor models.

Storage and battery

It is recommended that if you plan to store your board for more than a month or during winter for example, to ensure that the % of your battery is between 40-50%.

Check the condition of the battery every month to ensure that your battery is retaining its charge; take the opportunity to roll it around a bit, a few meters for example in your garage or basement to allow it to stretch out!

Finally, make sure to store your board in a soft place that is not too humid and where there will be no extreme temperature differences, such as in a shed or garage for example. It is recommended to store it at room temperature between 10-15 degrees.

BATTERY: It will also be beneficial to balance your battery cells after the storage period. When you are ready to go out again, plug in your board until it is fully charged. Leave the charger plugged in until the indicator light on your board is off AND your charger indicator light has turned green. This procedure will help ensure that all the cells in your battery perform at their peak and will optimize the duration of your outings.

It may be beneficial to repeat this process every month during 'high season'.

Light codes

Does your board show you light codes? Not sure you understand the sequence or its meaning? Here is the charter that will guide you: https://onewheel.com/pages/power-status-gt

Pushback and Haptic Buzz

It is extremely important to understand what “PUSHBACK” is on your board. Each model and each driving mode will have its own speed limit settings and accordingly, pushback at different levels.

Pushback is a warning that your board is approaching its speed limit. The Haptic Buzz will also be heard and felt at the same time. So before you set off at full speed in the first few kilometers or when you feel more comfortable, don't push the limit of your board. You are entering dangerous terrain and risk serious injury.

The Eshop Montreal team strongly recommends that you read the videos and the Onewheel application tutorial available in the academy section of the application.
